Rancho Santa Fe is a country estate community offering a magnificent rural environment unlike anything found in California. Four miles east of the Pacific Ocean and 25 minutes north of the city of San Diego, the Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe and its surrounding communities maintain a quaint country atmosphere, yet offer some of the most extraordinary residences in the United States. Five golf courses, a polo field, stables, horse country, an county park, tennis clubs, private fitness centers and much more make for the ultimate good life. Many people who live here can afford their own tennis courts, pools, putting greens, etc.

The center of this fabulous area is called the "Covenant" for the agreement which governs and maintains the areas character. With strict architectural guidelines and with the average lot size in excess of two acres, the area is distinguished by its wide open spaces, lush landscaping, tree-lined winding trails, quaint country atmosphere and magnificent estates. The small town of Rancho Santa Fe is at the corner of La Granada and Paseo Delicias, and includes a library, a resort inn and many different shops and offices.

Fairbanks Ranch is a secluded gated community which is also part of Rancho Santa Fe. Fairbanks Ranch has its own small shopping center, and lies off of San Dieguito Road. Beauty, seclusion, tradition - these are the great ideals that have always defined the area. With an average residential lot size in excess of two acres Rancho Santa Fe is rural in nature and distinguished by its open spaces and rolling hills.

To the east of the center of Rancho Santa Fe lie newer developments including The Bridges and Bing Crosby Estates as well as many large and beautiful private homes. These areas outside that which are covered by the covenant allow additional freedoms in construction and variety. Further to the east is the Lake Hodges Dam and the road to I-15.

The area's master plan, developed during the 1920's, called for the integration of structure and environment. Exceptional schools, superior golf courses and breathtaking homes complete this idyllic area. Below are links to the area's schools. Click here for other general area information.
